For assignment one part one I chose to use a Baby Yoda eraser as my object. It is a multi-colored soft rubber eraser in the model of Baby Yoda from Disney’s recent show “The Mandalorian.” The eraser has meaning in pop culture, but very little external cultural impact. It is separated into three parts: the head, the body, and the podium-like base. Each part can be separated by the user at will from the rest of the eraser.
I chose the Baby Yoda eraser because it is an interesting object with a lot of soft lines and irregular shapes, which will hopefully make for an interesting Assignment One. Baby Yoda is a complete cutie, so the eraser makes me happy whenever I see it. As Yoda is cute, I feel bad using it as an actual eraser; form definitely trumps function with this eraser for me.
It is mass-produced by machine in China with a copyright and trademark by LucasFilm Ltd.
